On Friday 25th May 2018, managing director Neil Murphy welcomed a number of delegates to our HQ in Derbyshire for a roundtable discussion on the future policy for off-grid heating. The government’s Clean Growth Strategy is looking to phase out high carbon fossil fuel (oil and coal) heating in the 2020s, and the more recent call for evidence reaffirms this ambition looking at policy for de-carbonising heat in buildings.
The roundtable event with delegates from BEIS (Department for Business, Energy & Industry Strategy), boiler and equipment manufacturers, trade groups and other supply chain representatives, saw the role of LPG discussed within the future policy framework. Evolving heat policy could have considerable impact on off-grid heating and as a lower carbon alternative to oil and coal, LPG is ideal for de-carbonising the off-grid market as a part of the wider energy mix.
Neil Murphy, AvantiGas managing director said, “it was great to welcome key stakeholders to our HQ to discuss the role of LPG and its various applications in the future off-grid energy mix. With an ambitious agenda set out by Government, LPG has a significant part to play in de-carbonising heat in both domestic and non-domestic properties.”
