At AvantiGas we pride ourselves on putting you and your family’s safety first. Here are some steps to make accessing your tank and property safer.
Cleaning your tank
Remove any leaves, excess debris or dirt, ensuring all safety signs are clearly visible. Wash tanks using warm water and washing-up liquid, ideally ammonia-free. Avoid using any harsh chemicals.
Vegetation
Keep all trees, shrubs and bushes at least three metres away from vessels up to 1.1T and 6m for larger vessels, not just to the sides but also above.
If you are trying to screen your tank from view, please read the instructions on how to do so safely. If your driveway or pathway borders another property, arrange with neighbours to have overgrown areas cut back. If your lane or pathway is public, contact your local council for advice.
Remember never to attempt tree work that should be done by a professional
Wish to screen your tank?
A vessel screen can be useful to disguise an LPG vessel in your garden. It is important that the screen does not interfere with ventilation or safety of the vessel. The driver should be able to see the delivery vehicle from the tank and safety signs should be clearly visible.
A visual screen may be used for above ground LPG storage vessels. Any screening shall be located at least 1m from the vessel shell and not interfere with access or ventilation.
If you’re unsure of the size of the vessel on your property, please contact us before commencing any work and we’ll be more than happy to help.
Below are examples of suitable screening options for LPG vessels:
